Atacama

Atacama first began producing speaker stands back in 1986. It was clear that lifting speakers off the ground and mounting them on a column that was sonically dead vastly improved their performance. It was soon realised that there was also major benefits to be gained by isolating hi-fi equipment in order for its full potential to be achieved. Ordinary domestic furniture did not offer the qualities required and therefore it was necessary to design dedicated furniture products that were aesthetically appealing, but at the same time allow the audio equipment it supports to achieve optimum performance. Since those early days, Atacama now manufacture a comprehensive range of speaker stands, hi-fi, and home cinema equipment racks, to meet the demanding needs of to days consumer.

Atacama startte in 1986 met het bouwen van speakerstands. Daarvoor (sinds 1969) had het bedrijf zich bezig gehouden met het ontwerpen van verschillende producten voor de vliegtuig industrie. De kennis op het gebied van akoustiek en resonanties die daarmee vergaard werd is van grote waarde en komt in ieder van de vele producten van Atacama terug. De filosofie van Atacama is een product te creeren dat akoustisch niets toevoegt aan de muziek en visueel door een prachtig design en afwerking juist iets toevoegt in uw woonomgeving. Uit de vele goede recensies die Atacama in ontvangst mocht nemen blijkt ook de zeer goede prijs-kwaliteit verhouding.
