As any music lover knows, there is a world of difference between a Stradivarius and a printed circuit board, an irreconcilable difference between a silicon chip and a Steinway. Simple ingenuity has always been the hallmark of British Craftmanship sought through the ages and upheld by 'The Few', in this modern age of convenience and throw-away consumerism.
We are living in exciting times and recently the website has been pretty quiet, well we now seek to address this. In the last twelve months we have relaunched this site, moved our production premises and extensively overhauled the circuitry of every product within the Croft range. Each instrument is new and improved. As a direct result and for the first time in three years, we have decided to submit some of our designs to the magazines for reviews.
The whole of the difficulty is to unite Art with Nature
As any music lover knows, there is a world of difference between a Stradivarius & a printed circuit board, an irreconcilable difference between a silicon chip and a Steinway.
Simple ingenuity has always been the hallmark of British Craftmanship sought through the ages and upheld by 'The Few', in this modern age of convenience and throw-away consumerism.
Croft for instance has always rejected the use of P.C.B.'s, a cheap and highly toxic alternative to the proper art of militarised direct soldering which is both ecologically and sonically advantageous.
Near perfect balance is part of the magic of Croft's success where components and materials are carefully chosen for their actual quality and proven audible superiority rather than 'market-sensation-ability'.
At Croft we are striving to create the perfect fusion of ingenuity, Art & Passion. Each product is an expression of what can only be described as, 'Design-Consciousness', where the material, representation of our ideals addresses the actual requirements of 'Real World' audiophiles hungry for sonic satisfaction'. For centuries, great minds and purists alike have maintained as their quintessential philosophy that simplest is best.
Croft too, follows this principle and remains unseduced by the fictional allure of digital and other 'clever ideas' which propose that increasing 'pixcelisation' can render a truer image of nature than say, a Hasselblad.
Whatever you may believe, the sound of Croft amplifiers is immediately accessible and undeniably musical with pure uncluttered sonics as their only signature.
You may gather that Croft instrumentation remains unashamedly a 'Labour-of-love' more reminiscent of 12th Century alchemy than modern conveyor-belt production methods.
Croft amplifiers are hand-crafted made for the faithful and the enthusiastic, and are capable of making the cynical and jaded amongst us relive the true miracle of High-Fidelity audio reproduction, that is the ability to make us experience the excitement of the original performance...
