Brief History of WADIA Founded in 1988, Wadia is one of the first high-end audio companies dedicated to the development of high-performance digital audio products. Wadia was formed by a group of engineers from the Minneapolis-based 3M Corporation who were committed to using advanced digital technology to improve the performance of early digital audio equipment. The first dramatic improvement came with Wadia’s DigiMaster™ up-sampling algorithm - developed specifically for the requirements of high-performance music reproduction. First product, the Wadia 2000 Decoding Computer, was introduced in 1988 and was a breakthrough. For many listeners around the world it proved the viability of Compact Disc as a musically involving format. Since then Wadia continued to develop new generations of Compact Disc playback equipment, raising the standard for digital music reproduction each step of the way. Wadia designs are born of a delicate balance of technology shaped by a passion for music. This combination of technical skill and understanding of musical enjoyment have allowed Wadia to produce superior digital playback components. |
