Wilson Audio uses speaker driving elements manufactured to proprietary specifications by the finest driver manufacturers in the world. In fact, those manufacturers are not able to use or sell these drivers themselves.
After delivery to Wilson Audio, the driver motors are further modified by the Wilson Audio engineering staff. Among other modifications, added motors (magnets) are integrated into the assembly, special damping compounds are added, and different fluid cooling materials are used. These modifications are the result of classified engineering research and thousands of hours of listening tests in the Wilson Audio lab.
No single manufacturer can supply every driver for every system. After careful evaluation, final driver choices are based on the driver's ability to meet the sonic goals of the designer and blend seamlessly with the other driver elements. Of course, the most important criteria is the driver's intrinsic musicality.
